What Is Medicare?
Medicare is a government health insurance program for people ages 65 and up, as well as some younger individuals who have disabilities.
There are four parts to Medicare:
– Part A covers hospital stays and other inpatient care requirements.
– Part B covers doctor visits, preventive screenings, and other outpatient care.
– Part C is also known as Medicare Advantage. It’s an alternative to Parts A and B that typically provides coverage for both hospital stays and doctor visits.
– Part D is prescription drug coverage.
If you have Medicare coverage and want to be informed about changes coming in 2023, or if you want to review your current plan to see if it’s the best one for you, now is the time. The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period starts on October 15th and ends on December 7th each year. You may also be able sign up during a special enrollment period for those who experience a qualifying life event, such as losing job-based health insurance.
At the Sosa Insurance Group, we want to ensure that you have all the information you need about your Medicare Health Plan options so that you can find the best coverage for your unique situation.
What Paperwork Is Required To Apply For Medicare?
To apply for Medicare, you will need to have your Social Security number and the date of your 65th birthday or the date you became disabled handy.
